In part two of the Betwixt Podcast conversation with Suzanne Stabile, we continue a discussion on the enneagram as a spiritual formation tool that can help shape the path between humans in relationship to one another and the path in our relationship with God.
“The Church is in liminal space. It is not what it used to be and it’s
not what it’s going be. And very few of us have the patience
to wait for the Holy Spirit to lead us and to
allow it to be what it can become.”
Suzanne shares her concern regarding the polarization within the church and how she believes the enneagram can help create a third way. A way in which we can more patiently wait on the Spirit and share the threshold in peace.
Additionally, we discuss how the enneagram helps us to see difference and foster a posture of inclusion rather than exclusion, how the enneagram is useful for adopted children, and the ins and outs of using the enneagram in parenting.
Suzanne’s first book is The Road Back to You: An Enneagram Journey to Self-Discovery. Her second book, The Path Between us: An Enneagram Journey to Healthy Relationships was released in April 2018.
When she is not on the road teaching and lecturing, Suzanne is at home in Dallas, Texas, with her husband Rev. Joseph Stabile, a United Methodist pastor with whom she co-founded Life in the Trinity Ministry and the Micah Center. They have many audio resources available, including The Enneagram Journey curriculum.
